Beale Infrastructure withdraws application for Gardner data center

Beale Infrastructure has withdrawn its application for a proposed data center in Gardner, Kansas. The City of Gardner confirmed the withdrawal, stating that the decision followed the city's communication to the developer that no tax incentives would be offered to fund the project. The proposed data center was considered one of the largest infrastructure projects in Johnson County history but faced significant pushback from Gardner residents. KSHB 41's Trent Gamble reported on the resident concerns, noting that similar opposition has been observed across the Kansas City metro, including a potential data center site in Spring Hill. Despite the withdrawal in Gardner, Beale Infrastructure reportedly maintains a billion-dollar investment footprint with a project just north of Gardner in DeSoto.
