Microsoft data center proposal sparks protest in Dorr Township

Microsoft has proposed building a data center in Dorr Township, Michigan, sparking protest from local residents. The group, around a dozen people, expressed concerns about the development's impact on their rural, farming community. Protesters argued the data center would threaten their way of life, with one resident saying "We are a rural community. We are a farming community. And to put something like this here just goes against what everybody wants of our community here." Microsoft has also requested a rezoning in a nearby township for similar plans, which has been paused after a large turnout at a planning commission meeting.
