The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is scheduled to conduct a public meeting on Thursday, March 19, in Hilliard to address a draft air emissions permit for a new Amazon data center. The proposed permit would authorize Amazon to operate up to 158 emergency generators at the facility, which are intended to run on either ultra-low-sulfur diesel or hydrogenated vegetable oil diesel. The meeting, to be held at The Well in Hilliard at 6 p.m., will include a presentation detailing the permit specifications, followed by an opportunity for public comments from residents and stakeholders. Local residents have already expressed concerns regarding the environmental impact of the project. Beyond speaking at the public meeting, community members are also able to submit their comments online or via mail until March 25.
