The Franklin County Farm Bureau announced it will host an educational meeting about data centers on March 27 at the Scotland Community Center in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m., aims to offer transparent information regarding data centers, land preservation efforts, and the farm bureau's mission. The agenda includes presentations from farm bureau president Zachary Meyers and other board members. Tom Beresnyak, a senior educator with the Penn State Extension Energy Team, will lead a session covering the reasons for data center growth in Pennsylvania, their power and water consumption, job creation, local government authority, taxes, and incentives. Following his presentation, a question-and-answer session will be held. Representatives from the Franklin County Agricultural Land Preservation Board will also provide an overview of land preservation, including the application process and frequently asked questions. The farm bureau will conclude the evening by discussing its advocacy and educational work related to data centers. The public is invited to attend, but seating is limited.
