The project, formerly known as Project Blackjack, is touted by developers as a source of hundreds of jobs and funding for local schools and public services. However, a majority of attendees expressed strong opposition, primarily citing concerns over excessive water usage in the desert environment. Residents voiced fears that the project would deplete local water supplies, turning Pahrump into a "ghost town." One resident questioned the choice of location, suggesting coastal areas with abundant water would be more suitable.
Developers stated that the Manse Technology Campus would utilize a water-recycling cooling system to avoid draining local resources. They were present at the town hall to hear the community's feedback.
