Troy, Illinois is considering stricter rules for data centers during a proposed six-month moratorium. The city's planning commission voted to recommend the City Council rewrite regulations based on research of other towns' rules and resident concerns. Houston-based Cloverleaf Infrastructure has been exploring potential data center locations in Troy, but has not presented a formal proposal. Cloverleaf development principal Jeff Lake said the company has seen greater opposition in Troy compared to other markets and will not pursue a project without community support.
