The St. Louis County Board postponed a vote on a proposed zoning ordinance after a significant public turnout and the submission of over 2600 petitions. The ordinance included a re-classification for data centers, though public concerns focused heavily on property rights and inoperable vehicle regulations. The proposed updates were sent back to the Planning Commission for further review.

The St. Louis County Board faced significant public opposition during a packed meeting at the Loon Lake Community Center regarding proposed changes to a zoning ordinance. Over 2,600 petitions were submitted against the updates, which included new regulations on the number of inoperable vehicles allowed on properties and a re-classification concerning data centers. Residents voiced strong concerns about property rights and the proposed conditional use permit for more than five inoperable vehicles, which would entail a $720 fee. In response to the large turnout and public feedback, the Board voted to send the proposed updates to the county's land use Ordinance 62 back to the Planning Commission for further review, with no immediate schedule for re-review.
