King leaders hear concerns on homeless, cost of utilities, and Halloween safety
King City Council discussed extending its data center moratorium while staff researches where data centers could be appropriate and what standards should apply. The council scheduled a Nov. 2 legislative hearing and vote on the extension.
At its Oct. 5 meeting, the King City Council received a progress report on the city’s data center moratorium. Planning Intern Emerson Wright said an extension would allow staff to thoroughly research suitable locations and regulatory standards before a data center application is submitted.
The council scheduled a legislative hearing and vote on extending the moratorium for 6 p.m. Nov. 2. The meeting also addressed sewage rates, homelessness in King parks and Halloween traffic safety, but no specific data center company or project was identified.
