The Allen Park Planning Commission has again postponed a decision on a controversial data center proposal by Solstice Data, marking the third deferral for the project. Solstice Data plans to build a 26-megawatt facility on Enterprise Drive, just south of I-94.
During an hours-long, packed meeting at Allen Park City Hall, numerous residents addressed the Planning Commission, expressing significant concerns about the proposal. Commissioners reiterated specific questions from a previous meeting in March, indicating that developers had not yet provided definitive answers to their queries.
Both representatives from Solstice Data and the Allen Park Planning Commission declined to comment on camera following the meeting. The ongoing delays have frustrated residents, who have had to invest their time repeatedly to attend the lengthy public hearings. A date for the next meeting and a potential decision remains unclear.
