The county commissioners' decision aims to provide leaders with sufficient time to gather public input and thoroughly review existing development standards. This review will precede any consideration of future data center applications.
The moratorium, however, does not impact any applications that were submitted before last Tuesday's vote. Paulding County resident Taylor Kim voiced concerns, stating that "Data centers don't talk about protecting our communities or preserving our lands or our farms," emphasizing the need for meaningful and appropriate change.
