Vantage Data Centers marked a significant construction milestone at its Lighthouse Campus in Port Washington, Wisconsin, on May 15, completing the steel framework for one of its four massive data center buildings. Ramon Perez, Vantage's environment, safety and health manager, highlighted the event, noting the 560,000-square-foot building's progress. Another, even larger 760,000-square-foot building is currently in the ground-preparation phase.

Port Mayor Ted Neitzke emphasized the project's scale, noting the construction road is the busiest in Ozaukee County, with 1,583 workers on site the previous day. The data center development, which began on December 21, will feature 48.3 miles of underground water pipes and extensive retention ponds designed to prevent flooding in the city by slowly releasing water into Valley Creek.

Perez also indicated that work on a 50-acre electrical substation and a medical helipad would commence soon. Despite past controversies surrounding the campus, Mayor Neitzke praised the project's economic impact, citing Michels Corp.'s $120 million equipment purchase and high worker wages. The Port data center will be used for artificial intelligence and is part of the Stargate program.
