The Madison County Plan Commission has voted to recommend a six-month moratorium on data centers in the county. This decision followed over two hours of public comment where dozens of local residents voiced their support for the moratorium.

The Madison County Plan Commission voted 8-1 to recommend a six-month moratorium on data centers within the county, following more than two hours of public comment on Tuesday. The meeting, held at the Madison County Government Center in Anderson, saw dozens of local residents pack the council chambers to express their support for the proposed building pause. Commissioner Jerry Alexander cast the sole dissenting vote against the recommendation.
