Monroe Township is currently preparing for a presentation on a proposed data center development along West Grantham Road, West Lisburn Road, and Williams Grove Road. This area is presently zoned for residential use. On December 15, Monroe Township had already enacted an ordinance that restricts data center development to areas designated for industrial and highway commercial purposes only.
The Upper Allen Commissioners indicated their intention to closely monitor the situation. This decision was prompted by multiple reports from residents expressing apprehension about the impact on four groundwater wells located in the vicinity of the proposed development.
