Global Stack has proposed building up to 70 data centers and helipads at California fairgrounds by 2030, including the Cow Palace and other Bay Area sites. While many fairgrounds are still evaluating the plan, the Calistoga Fairgrounds Advisory Committee has already rejected its proposal due to local concerns about noise and pollution. The company aims for long-term leases to provide revenue for fairgrounds.

California-based developer Global Stack has put forth a proposal to construct approximately 70 "edge" data centers and helipads at fairgrounds across California by 2030. The company's plan involves leasing about five acres at each site for up to 10 megawatts of electricity usage per facility, aiming to provide steady long-term revenue for fairgrounds through 100-year land agreements.

The historic Cow Palace Arena & Event Center in Daly City, along with other Bay Area sites such as the San Mateo County Event Center, Solano County Fairgrounds, and Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, are currently in the early stages of evaluating Global Stack's proposal. However, the Calistoga Fairgrounds Advisory Committee in Napa County has already rejected the idea following concerns raised by local residents regarding potential noise and pollution from the proposed development. Cow Palace CEO Allison Keaney stated that the venue is performing due diligence, noting the potential benefits of added parking and emergency helipads for events and operations.
