Cass County, North Dakota, could be the site of a new data center following a purchase agreement for nearly one square mile of land in Durbin Township by a company representing Minnesota-based Geronimo Power. However, Geronimo Power states they do not have a permit application and local officials, like Durbin Township board chairman Keith Goetz, were reportedly blindsided by the news.
Cass County, North Dakota, is reportedly a potential location for a new data center. A company representing Minnesota-based Geronimo Power has secured a purchase agreement for approximately one square mile of land in Durbin Township, situated southeast of Casselton and south of I-94.
Despite the purchase agreement, Geronimo Power has not yet submitted a permit application for a data center in Cass County and confirms no land has been officially bought in Durbin. Durbin Township board chairman Keith Goetz expressed surprise and a lack of information regarding the potential project when asked by WDAY, indicating he was "blindsided" by the news.
