Avista, a utility company, has officially confirmed that a potential "large load" electricity customer they are in discussions with is a data center development. The announcement came in an email from Avista to KREM 2 News, clarifying previous uncertainties surrounding public confirmation.
The utility company stated that after a more thorough review of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the project developer, they determined that the terms did not restrict them from identifying the nature of the potential project. This confirmation reveals the ongoing exploration of a new data center in the region.
