Joliet Getting New Culvers Restaurant: City Council Vote Takes Place This Evening

The Joliet City Council is set to vote on a recommendation from the city's public works director to approve a drive-thru permit for a new Culver's restaurant to be located at 1301 Shale Road in Joliet, Illinois. The public works director, Greg Ruddy, has stated that the restaurant will be located on a new lot adjacent to the existing Chipotle restaurant within the Rock Run Collection development, near the Hollywood Casino Joliet. Ruddy's memo notes that the city's planning division has reviewed the preliminary site plan and has no remaining concerns, and that the applicant has submitted plans showing adequate traffic flow and storage capacity for the drive-thru. While the Council's main focus at the meeting will be on a vote for a new data center, potentially the largest ever built in the Midwest, they will also consider this recommendation for the new Culver's restaurant. If approved, the drive-thru permit will allow the restaurant to move forward with construction and operations.
