Jeffersonville, Indiana – The Jeffersonville City Council has unanimously approved a one-year moratorium on new data center development within the city limits. The decision followed a public comment session and aims to provide city leaders with adequate time to establish comprehensive zoning rules before any further data center projects are allowed to proceed.

The newly enacted moratorium, however, explicitly excludes Meta's data center, which is currently under construction at the River Ridge development. This exemption ensures that the ongoing project by the tech giant will not be impacted by the temporary halt on new developments.
