Hanover County is considering a third data center proposal, known as the Harris Farms Data Center, in the South Anna District. The project is in the pre-application stage but is already facing pushback from residents concerned about quality of life and water usage, particularly given another large data center project, the Mountain Road Tech Park, is also underway nearby.

The video reports on a new data center proposal in Hanover County, Virginia, known as the "Harris Farms Data Center." This project, spearheaded by JK Land Holding, is in its pre-application phase and is located near Harris Farms Lane, just off Route 33 in Ashland. It is the third such proposal in the South Anna District this year, drawing attention from local residents. Neighbor Anne MaGee expressed concerns that the development would disrupt her quiet, rural lifestyle, stating, "All of this will be gone once the data centers are here." Residents are particularly worried about the cumulative impact, as the Harris Farms project is located within 1.5 miles of another large data center development, the Mountain Road Tech Park, which would span 430 acres and use at least 600,000 gallons of water daily from the county supply. Residents question where the Harris Farms project would obtain its water, given the demand from the Mountain Road site. County documents from a March meeting acknowledge the site's proximity to the Mountain Road project and warn developers to expect resident pushback on traffic and buffering. While county leaders and developers were contacted for comment, a response was pending. In the past, Hanover County leaders have argued that data center development could financially benefit the county if it aligns with the comprehensive plan. The Mountain Road Technical Center's approval by the Board of Supervisors is still pending, but the general consensus among some residents is that it will likely pass.
