Tudor: Energy needs center on reliability, affordability, sustainability
Artemis Energy Partners CEO Bobby Tudor told the Downtown Rotary Club in Alexandria that data centers will drive major demand for reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity and water. He said communities, including those in Central Louisiana, are weighing the implications and costs of the industry’s growth.
Bobby Tudor, founder and CEO of Houston-based Artemis Energy Partners, told the Downtown Rotary Club in Alexandria that data centers are becoming a major growth opportunity as the United States competes with China for artificial intelligence leadership. He said the facilities require large, continuous supplies of electricity and water and are likely to be built in regional clusters.
Tudor said communities in Central Louisiana and elsewhere are pushing back while seeking clarity about the industry’s impacts and who will bear the costs. He argued that data centers are necessary to meet rising electricity demand and can provide financial benefits, but said energy policy must balance reliability, affordability and sustainability.
