The village administrator of Wrightstown, Travis Coenen, has been seeking advice from Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a data center development firm, on how to amend the village's zoning code for a potential data center project. Email exchanges obtained through a public records request by local residents opposed to a data center reveal Coenen's request for zoning language used in other communities.
Coenen confirmed the emails in an interview, stating that Cloverleaf initially reached out to him and that it was his role to explore all options for the village. Cloverleaf has previously faced significant community opposition to its data center projects in northeast Wisconsin, including in Greenleaf and Kewaunee. Travis Armistead, a Cloverleaf manager, indicated that the company had leads for potential sites "fairly close to the Village of Wrightstown's border.
Residents of Wrightstown have already begun to push back against the idea of a data center in the village, signaling ongoing opposition similar to the past efforts that stalled Cloverleaf's projects in Greenleaf and Kewaunee.
