Morton County Commission approves data center ordinance

The Morton County Commission officially approved a new ordinance aimed at regulating data centers during its regular meeting on Thursday, September 10. The decision follows discussions regarding changes to various sections of the proposed ordinance, including the reclamation section, which was explained by Morton County Planning and Zoning Director Natalie Pearce.
Commission Chairman Nathan Boehm was present during the discussion. Despite the approval, some commissioners expressed that the ordinance is not a final document and will likely necessitate further modifications and refinements in the future to adapt to evolving needs and circumstances regarding data center development within Morton County.
