Homeowners challenging a proposed Birmingham data center are pursuing records from Iron City Premier Realty and Regions Bank. The plaintiffs say their investigation suggests Iron City may have been involved in transactions tied to the data center property, though a recent court filing did not provide details. Birmingham officials are objecting to the subpoena directed at Iron City, while the company itself has not objected.
The litigation also names Hoar Construction LLC, Lakeshore Data Center LLC and Nebius Inc. A Jefferson County Circuit Court judge is scheduled to hear arguments on the subpoena objections, with a nonjury trial set for March 8, 2027. Discovery is due to conclude by Jan. 13, 2027, and expert witnesses must be disclosed by Nov. 6.
