Companies committing to these new regulations include Meta, Mera Holdings, Skybox, OpenAI, and Digital Realty. Governor Abbott has specifically directed state regulators to ensure that new data center projects become self-sufficient in power generation, transparently report their projected water consumption and recycling methods, and actively work to reduce adverse effects on adjacent properties.
