The Aurora City Council is scheduled to vote on an indefinite moratorium on data center development at its Oct. 26, 2026, meeting. The proposed moratorium follows opposition to the Trident Data Center, and a prior special-session vote was canceled because two council members were unavailable.

The Aurora City Council plans to consider an indefinite moratorium on data center development during its regular meeting on Oct. 26, 2026. The proposal comes amid community opposition to the Trident Data Center, with residents attending a Sept. 28 council meeting to protest the project.

A special-session vote initially scheduled for Oct. 19 was canceled by Mayor Mike Coffman after two council members said they could not attend. The council has not yet voted on the moratorium.
