Walker County pauses data center applications

The Walker County Board of Commissioners has approved a 30-day moratorium on new data center applications, a decision made during its July 9 meeting. This temporary measure prevents the county from accepting new proposals while officials review and consider changes to existing local zoning regulations related to data centers.

A public hearing is scheduled for August 6th, where the Board will discuss the potential extension of this pause on data center development.
