UL Solutions Introduces Certification Program for Prefabricated Data Center Power Distribution Systems, Awards First Certification to Schneider Electric
UL Solutions has launched a new certification program, UL 2140, for prefabricated data center power distribution systems. Schneider Electric is the first company to achieve this certification, addressing safety evaluation needs for AI and hyperscale data center projects. The certificate was presented at Data Center World Power in Dallas.
UL Solutions, a global leader in applied safety science, has introduced a new certification program, UL 2140, specifically designed for prefabricated data center power distribution assemblies. This initiative aims to meet the growing safety evaluation demands stemming from the increasing use of factory-built integrated power systems in AI and hyperscale data center projects.
Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, became the first company to achieve this certification. Manav Patel, vice president of Strategy and Transformation for Schneider Electric's Low Voltage Business, received the certificate from Chanté Maurio, vice president of Data Centers, Global and Strategic Accounts at UL Solutions.
The official recognition took place at the Data Center World Power event on September 22 in Dallas, marking a significant step for the industry in standardizing and ensuring the safety of advanced data center power infrastructure.
