Northfield considers moratorium on data centers

The Northfield Planning Board is considering a temporary moratorium on data center development and has held the first of two scheduled public hearings. The proposed bylaw changes, which also address accessory dwelling units, could go before Town Meeting for consideration.

Northfield’s Planning Board is considering a proposed moratorium on data center development and has completed the first of two scheduled public hearings on the measure. The board is also reviewing proposed regulations for accessory dwelling units.
The bylaw changes may be forwarded directly to Northfield Town Meeting. The Planning Board is scheduled to meet again on Tuesday, October 27.
