Daniel Priestley, the County Zoning Coordinator, briefed the Board of Adjustments on information gathered from a recent data center meeting in Sloan. These insights will be used to formulate recommendations for the Board of Supervisors.
Priestley indicated that if the ordinance is enacted, the Board of Adjustments could become the primary permitting authority for conditional use permits related to data centers. He urged members to stay informed about the ongoing discussions within the county's supervisory and zoning bodies, anticipating significant work ahead.
A public meeting to further discuss the data center ordinance is scheduled for September 21 at 7 p.m. at the Moville Community Center.
