On April 27, the Louisa County Board of Supervisors voted to decrease the individual personal property tax rate from $2.43 to $2.07 per $100 of assessed value, effective in fiscal year 2027. Chairman Duane Adams stated this move reflects the Board's commitment to diversifying the tax base and strengthening revenue sources while constraining growth to limited areas. County officials attributed this tax relief to early revenue generated by data centers currently under construction, even though they are not yet fully operational. To ensure responsible growth and manage future development, the county also stipulated that no new data center projects would be permitted without first obtaining a Conditional Use Permit.
