Spartanburg County Council approved second readings for development agreements covering three proposed data centers along South Pine Street, Tiger River, Industrial Drive and Jones Road. The projects have drawn support over potential jobs, tax revenue and economic growth, but residents criticized noise and pollution concerns and argued that the agreements were incomplete, including a missing site plan.

The South Pine Street agreement advanced on a 4-2 vote, while the other two passed with one opposing vote each. County officials said missing documents are expected to be included with the November meeting agenda, giving residents about 10 days to review them before a public hearing and final vote. Officials are also developing additional data center regulations, including noise standards.
