The Lima Township Planning Commission is set to conduct a public hearing on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Lima Township Hall. The purpose of the hearing is to discuss proposed amendments to the Lima Township Zoning Ordinance concerning data and computer processing centers.

These proposed text amendments aim to establish definitions for data center uses, revise the zoning districts where data centers may be permitted, and designate data centers as special land uses. Additionally, the amendments will introduce supplementary regulations specific to data centers and outline standards for reviewing requests to alter the Township's adopted Future Land Use map or Master Plan.

The specific sections of the Zoning Ordinance slated for amendment include Section 2.2 (Definitions), Sections 4.5.14, 4.5.15, and 4.5.17 (Zoning District Regulations for R-O, LI, and VC zones), and the addition of Section 5.59 (General Provisions and Supplementary Regulations – Data Processing and Computer Centers). Modifications to Article 14 (Amendments) are also part of the proposal.

Interested parties are invited to submit signed, written comments on the text amendments to the Lima Township Planning Commission by 12:00 p.m. on June 22, 2026, or via email to the Zoning Administrator.
