Halifax County Board of Commissioners candidate questions: Chenoa Davis
Halifax County Commissioner Chenoa Richardson Davis supports responsible data center development but also favors a temporary moratorium while the county establishes stronger protections. She says future projects should provide tax and community benefits and comply with enhanced zoning and regulatory requirements.
Halifax County Board of Commissioners Vice Chair Chenoa Richardson Davis, who is seeking re-election, said she supports responsible data center development in Halifax County because it could expand the tax base and generate funding for schools, emergency services and other county programs. She also supports a temporary moratorium on additional projects while the county develops stronger protections.
Davis said the county should use the moratorium period to establish community benefits and local zoning provisions for data centers. Her broader priorities include upgrading water and sewer infrastructure, expanding broadband and pursuing regional water partnerships to support economic development while protecting residents and public services.
