Pitt commissioners meet tonight with data center zoning regulations on the agenda
The Pitt County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to receive a staff presentation on current data center zoning regulations and permitted zoning districts. Staff will also explain the process for enacting a data center moratorium, which the board may consider after the presentation.
The Pitt County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to discuss data center regulations during its regular meeting. County staff will review existing zoning rules, identify districts where data centers could be permitted, and outline the requirements for establishing a moratorium.
The presentation follows an Aug. 17 request from commissioners for more information. The board could decide to consider a moratorium or seek further evaluation, amid similar actions by Edgecombe County and Farmville in Eastern North Carolina.
