Morgan County Board to Discuss Data Center Moratorium and Siting Rules
The Morgan County Board is set to discuss a six-month moratorium on data center plans and construction, along with proposed siting regulations. Voters will also consider a nonbinding referendum next month on whether restrictions should be imposed on data center construction and operations in the county.
The Morgan County Board is scheduled to review the six-month moratorium it imposed on data center planning and construction. During the moratorium, the board has accepted public comments and considered potential siting rules, despite Morgan County lacking countywide zoning authority.
A nonbinding advisory referendum on data center restrictions will appear on next month’s ballot. The board’s agenda also includes appointments to the Housing Authority and the Willow Creek Drainage District Board.
