Monarch Compute Campus to go vertical soon
The Monarch Compute Campus near Point Pleasant, West Virginia, is soon to begin vertical construction on its data center buildings. The project, led by Nscale, is expanding its workforce, currently employing around 900 construction workers with plans to double that number by year-end, emphasizing local hiring.
Vertical construction is set to commence shortly at the Monarch Compute Campus, a major data center development located north of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Jason Bechtle, Site Manager for Nscale, confirmed that civil work is progressing well, hitting key milestones as the project prepares for the erection of its data center buildings.
The construction site, known as Project Monarch, currently employs approximately 900 workers, a number that includes personnel involved in both pipeline work and on-site construction. Nscale anticipates significantly increasing its workforce, potentially reaching up to 2,000 employees by the end of the year as vertical construction accelerates.
Bechtle emphasized the project's commitment to local hiring, stating that the availability of skilled trades from local union halls has been instrumental. The company aims to continue recruiting locally and hopes to re-employ individuals who previously sought job opportunities elsewhere, contributing to the region's economic development.
