Shadowbox Studios claimed it had been advised the site could be developed for a data center. However, the county stated that these communications were not legally binding and that the application was not processed due to the moratorium. Attorneys for Shadowbox Studios challenged the legality of the moratorium during the hearing.
Residents also voiced their opposition to the proposed data center, contributing to the board's decision to turn down the application.
