Village of Springville Board sets public hearings for data center moratorium, CDBG projects
The Village of Springville Board of Trustees scheduled a public hearing on a proposed one-year moratorium covering data center and standalone battery-storage applications, permits and construction. The moratorium would give the village time to study land-use, zoning, environmental, infrastructure, utility-demand, noise and traffic impacts and consider regulatory changes.
The Village of Springville Board of Trustees scheduled an Oct. 19 public hearing on Local Law 12, a proposed one-year moratorium on data center and nonresidential standalone battery-storage applications, approvals, permits and construction. The proposal is intended to provide time for the village to evaluate potential impacts on land use, zoning, the environment, infrastructure, public safety, utility demand, noise, traffic and community character.
The board will also hold a hearing on the village’s proposed Community Development Block Grant application. The data center moratorium and related study are local government actions; the article does not identify a specific developer or data center company.
