A contractor for the Project Blue data center in Pima County, Arizona, received a Notice of Violation from the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality for failing to control dust during construction. This incident follows the City of Tucson's decision to cut off the project's access to city water, which was allegedly being used for dust control despite the city's opposition to the development. The company has five days to resolve the dust issue or face potential fines.

The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality has issued a Notice of Violation (NOV) to Beale Infrastructure, the California-based developer involved in the Project Blue data center. The NOV specifies that construction at the site on South Houghton Road, north of the Pima County Fairgrounds, failed to employ adequate dust control measures, resulting in excessive dust crossing property lines. Beale Infrastructure has been given five days to correct the problem or face possible financial penalties.
This violation emerges shortly after the City of Tucson terminated the Project Blue data center's access to municipal water, stating that the water was being used for dust control despite the city's expressed opposition to the project. KGUN 9 attempted to contact the developer for comments, who indicated that work at the site is continuing.
