The Hartville Village Council, at its April 27 meeting, officially adopted a strategic plan presented earlier in April. Following this, Councilman James Sullivan raised concerns about data center construction, prompted by letters from a local property owner. Sullivan expressed a desire to draft a resolution for a moratorium on any further reviews of data center projects until more information can be gathered. The council has scheduled a work session for May 5 at 6 p.m. to further discuss the strategic plan's implementation, as well as the potential moratoriums and new legislation. In other municipal business, the council passed several items of legislation, including designating Howard Court as a one-way street and authorizing participation in Ohio Department of Transportation road salt contracts. They also heard the third reading of a resolution to appoint Eric J. Williams as the village solicitor.
