Amherst data center request needs special exception permit

A proposed data center project located off U.S. 29 Business in Madison Heights, Virginia, will be subject to a special exception permit process. According to Amherst County's chief administrative official, this protocol mandates at least two public hearings before the zoning application can potentially receive approval.
