Aquifers over AI Rally pushes for statewide pause on new data centers

Participants in the “Aquifers over AI” rally in Spokane urged Washington to pause approvals for new data centers statewide. Organizers focused on potential impacts to aquifers and other water resources as data center development expands.

The rally also raised concerns about added pressure on local infrastructure. The requested pause is an advocacy proposal, not a moratorium enacted by the state.
