‘It’s just so much noise:’ Arizona residents voice concerns about living next door to a data center under construction
Residents living near the Menlo Digital data center under construction in Ahwatukee say construction noise and pollution are affecting their quality of life and health. Ana Marshall has filed about 10 noise complaints with the City of Phoenix since April 2026, but says none has been resolved.
Ahwatukee residents raised concerns about noise and alleged pollution from construction of the Menlo Digital data center at a town hall in Mesa attended by Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes. Ana Marshall, who lives about 150 feet from the project with her husband and son, said construction has contributed to persistent noise and health concerns, including repeated sinus infections affecting her child.
Marshall said she has submitted roughly 10 noise complaints to the City of Phoenix since April 2026. Although the complaints were acknowledged, she said city officials have not resolved them, leaving nearby residents seeking action as construction continues.
