Public hearing Wednesday for proposed data center at former Wisconsin Rapids papermill site
The City of Wisconsin Rapids Planning Commission is holding a public hearing to discuss a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) request from DC Rapids LLC for a data center at the former papermill site. The Commission will then make a recommendation to the Common Council. Residents are invited to weigh in on the proposal.
The City of Wisconsin Rapids Planning Commission has scheduled a public hearing to review a proposal for a new data center. DC Rapids LLC is seeking a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to construct the facility at 950 Fourth Ave. N., the site of a former papermill.
The Planning Commission will discuss and take action on the permit request, subsequently sending its recommendation to the Common Council. Commissioners will also consider the project's site plan review, which does not require a public hearing. The public hearing is set for Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at Lincoln High School, where Mayor Zacher will oversee a three-minute speaking limit per registered attendee. Residents can also submit comments to the Community Development Department if they cannot attend in person.
