The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners has officially postponed its highly anticipated and contentious vote regarding 'Project Tango,' a proposed hyperscale AI data center. Originally slated for April 23, County Mayor Sara Baxter confirmed that the vote has been rescheduled to a zoning hearing on Wednesday, July 15, at 9:30 a.m.
Project Tango has generated considerable public debate, with critics expressing concerns over potential environmental and sound impacts, as well as its proximity to residential areas and the newly established Saddle View Elementary School. Conversely, proponents argue that the development will significantly boost the local economy.
While no immediate reasons for the postponement were provided, sources familiar with the situation suggest the delay aims to grant developers additional time to conduct necessary impact studies. The deferral is also expected to allow commissioners more opportunity to thoroughly review the proposal and consider the public's input before rendering a final decision.
