City leaders in Charlestown, Indiana, are set to hold a public meeting tonight to consider a proposal for a new data center. The planned facility, estimated at 55,000 square feet, would be located along Cristiani Parkway, near residential areas and farms.

The project, described as being on the smaller side compared to hyperscale data centers, has nonetheless drawn significant opposition from nearby residents. Neighbors are voicing concerns over the potential for increased noise and traffic, as well as the relatively few jobs expected to be generated by the large-scale development.
