U.S. Representative Don Beyer (D-VA) has formally urged the Fairfax County Planning Commission to reject a permit application for the Edsall Data Center Substation 2232, proposed at 6299 Edsall Road in Lincolnia.

In a letter to the commission, Beyer stated that while Fairfax County has implemented guidelines to mitigate the impact of data center infrastructure on surrounding communities and to preserve land for housing, economic opportunities, and transit-oriented development, he shares the concerns of residents and stakeholders. He believes the proposed substation conflicts with these stated county goals.
