Dubuque public input meetings, survey scheduled for data center ordinance
The City of Dubuque is holding public meetings and conducting a survey to gather input for a new data center ordinance. This initiative follows the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors' approval of a 12-month moratorium on new data centers in May. The feedback will be discussed in an August work session.
The City of Dubuque, Iowa, is actively seeking public input to develop a comprehensive data center ordinance. This effort includes two in-person public meetings scheduled for July 21 and July 27 at the Grand River Center, both starting at 6:00 p.m. Additionally, the City is distributing physical surveys to all residents, with expected delivery between July 10 and July 17, and an online version will also be made available.
All survey responses must be submitted by August 5. The feedback collected from these meetings and the survey will be instrumental in a public work session scheduled for August, where the results will be thoroughly discussed. This initiative by the City of Dubuque follows a prior action by the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors, which approved a 12-month moratorium on new data center developments in May.
