Energy and digital infrastructure company Hut 8 has secured a 15-year, $9.8 billion lease for its new Beacon Point Data Center campus, slated for construction in the Robstown area of Nueces County, Texas.
The facility is designed to support massive artificial intelligence operations, with an initial computing capacity of 352 megawatts. Hut 8 anticipates that the site will eventually require up to 1000 megawatts of power from the utility grid. The company projects the campus to become operational in early 2027.
This significant investment is expected to generate 115 permanent jobs within the Robstown community.
