No Data Center 502, a group opposed to a hyperscale data center being built in southwest Louisville, interrupted a Humana APP Louisville Open pickleball match Oct. 16. Protesters walked on to the court in the middle of play, shouting various chants that were critical of Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and the data center project. Tournament organizers eventually turned on music to drown out the chants, and security personnel escorted the protesters out of the building. The tournament is being held at the Kentucky International Convention Center downtown in conjunction with a festival around the venue. "While Greenberg focuses his attention on pickleball and photo ops, the constituents he has ignored fear for their health and future," No Data Center 502 said in a statement after the protest.
